He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine with First Honour Degree.He finished his training in Internal Medicine in 1980 in the same University and was appointed as Associate Professor in Internal Medicine in 1984.Between 1983-1986 he had cardiology fellowship.In 1990 he was appointed as Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the Department of Cardiology,Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.He served as the Dean of the Medical School and Chairman of the Medical center as well as Acting President of the University for two years.He has served as the member of the executive boards and various committees of several international professional scientific societies including Vice President of the European Society of Cardiology.He has also been honored as the President of the Turkish Society of Cardiology for two consecutive terms.Dr.Oto has also served in the editorial boards of many international medical journals as well as deputy editor and as the editor of national journals.He edited several books published in the country or internationally.He is the Author of more than 300 scientific papers.Currently he is the Chairman,Department of Cardiology in MHG,Memorial Ankara Hospital.

Dr.A P M Sohrabuzzaman,a skilled Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Interventional Cardiologist,currently Senior Consultant in Cardiology and Director of Cardiac Cath Lab and Heart Rhythm Services at Labaid Cardiac Hospital,Dhanmondi,Dhaka.Bangladesh.Professor of medicine,School of health science,State University of Bangladesh,Satmosjid Road,Dhaka,Bangladesh.

He got his Medical Graduation Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery(MBBS),from Chittagong Medical College&University of Chittagong,Chittagong,Bangladesh in 1980 and had joined in government service under health directorate as Assistant Surgeon.He had Fellowship in Internal Medicine(FCPS),from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons,Dhaka,Bangladesh in 1987.He got his Doctor of Medicine(MD),from National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases&University of Dhaka,Dhaka,Bangladesh in 1995 and joined as Assistant Professor in Cardiology in the same Institute in 1997.He is the first person to get FCPS in internal medicine followed by MD in Cardiology in this country.He did special fellowship for two years in Invasive and Interventional Cardiology,Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing,from Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre,New Delhi,India.He is the first trained cardiac electrophysiologist in Bangladesh.He did his first coronary angioplasty and balloon mitral valvuloplasty(PTMC)in Jammu Medical College Hospital,India in 2002 independently.After completion of his special fellowship he had returned to Bangladesh in 2002 and unfortunately he could not rejoin in government service.Then he had started his carrier in private sector with the inception of Labaid Cardiac Hospital by providing cardiac care to the people of his country.Further he got advance training in Kualalumpur,Hydrabad and laussane in cardiac intervention,cardiac electrophysiology and device implantation respectively.

In Bangladesh he did the first EPS(2004),RFA of AVNRT(2004)and atrial fibrillation(2009)ablation.He had implanted first AICD(2004)in this country and diagnosed first restrictive cardiomyopathy in a patient by percutaneous myocardial biopsy(2009).He did the first IVC filter implantation(2010)in a case of repeated pulmonary embolism and did the first stenting in coarctation of aorta(2012).He had started first alcohol septal ablation(2010)for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy treatment and he had started head up tilt table test(2003)to determine the cause of syncope.

He has presented scientific papers in many different national and international medical science conferences;he had shown and discussed his difficult cardiac&peripheral intervention and EPS-RFA.He had attended many different national and international medical conferences as invited faculty.It includes cardiac intervention as well as cardiac electrophysiology conferences.

He has published more than thirty articles in different national and international medical journal.Those are published in Bangladesh medical journal,Bangladesh heart journal,Bangladesh journal of child health,Chest and heart journal,journal of medical teacher’s federation,Bangladesh journal of cardiology and American journal of cardiology.
He has trained a good number of interventional Cardiologist and emerging cardiac Electrophysiologist in this country.

Prof.(Dr.)Syed Ishtiaq Rasool is a professionally qualified and accomplished clinical and interventional Cardiologist with over 25 years of experience of clinical and Academic work in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Karachi and Cardiology Research Centre(CRC),Moscow–Russia.

Dr.Syed Ishtiaq Rasool is a senior Professor and head of Cardiology Unit-1(South Ward)in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases(NICVD),Karachi.He obtained his Ph.D in Cardiology and certification in Interventional Cardiology in 1994 later he joined NICVD in 1996 as a Certified Invasive Cardiologist.Since then he has played a significant role in NICVD in establishing a coronary angioplasty and valvuloplasty programme.He also helped train and teach several interventional cardiology fellows in NICVD.He is highly experienced in Angioplasty and Valvuloplasty Procedures.He has taken a keen interest in research and has facilitated data collection in NICVD in several studies and also acted as coordinator for two large multicenter trials-The“INTER HEART”and“Create GIK”studies conducted by Mac Master University,Ontario Canada.He was awarded the certificate of Appreciation for his valuable contribution in these studies by Mac Master University,Canada.In recognition of his contribution in cardiology he was awarded the Fellowship of Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions(SCAI)and Fellowship of American College of Cardiology(FACC).He organized several successful interventional workshops“CARDIO Live”in NICVD which were highly academic and demonstrated State-of-the-Art Techniques in cardiac coronary and valvular interventions.He has so far attended many national and international conferences,seminars,workshops and symposia on various disciplines relating to cardiology with special emphasis in interventional cardiology.He has authored over 30 scientific papers that have been published and presented in National and International meetings.
